Privacy policy

PrepMyMeals helps you plan your meals for the week, tick them off as you eat them, and build your grocery list. This page explains what information the PrepMyMeals website and phone app keep, why, and how you can delete it. In short: we only keep what the app needs to work, we don't show ads, we don't track you, and we never sell your data.

If you use PrepMyMeals without an account

Your meal plan, settings, ticks and grocery list stay on your device (in your browser or in the phone app). We don't receive them. To load the meal library, your device asks our server for it, like any website visit.

If you create an account

We keep:

• Account details: your name, email address, password, and the invite code you joined with. Your password is stored scrambled (hashed) by our sign-in provider; we can never see it. PrepMyMeals administrators can see your name and email in the list of members, to manage invites.
• Meals you create: private to you. Only you see them in your meal list; we never publish them or show them to other people.
• What you add: meals and ingredients you create, your meal plan and notes, the meals you tick off as eaten and when (your meal history, with what each day's plan and calorie goal were), your grocery list, and your settings (daily calorie goal, how it splits into protein, carbs and fat, which meals you plan, the day your week starts).
• Your weight, if you log it: the weights you add in the phone app and the day of each, so your progress is the same on every device. This is health information: we use it only to show your progress and your goal, and it is deleted with your account. The other details the calorie helper asks for (sex, age, height, goal weight, activity) stay on your phone and are not sent to us.

We use this only to run PrepMyMeals for you: to sign you in and to show the same plan on every device you use. Meals and ingredients you add are only visible to you, and to the PrepMyMeals administrators, who can see every meal so they can look after the shared meal library. An administrator may also add one of your meals to the shared library for everyone.

Your calorie goal and meals are numbers you choose. PrepMyMeals is a planning tool, not medical advice.

If you join the waitlist

When you join the waitlist for the phone app on our website, we keep the name and email address you give us, and when you joined. We use them only to invite you to test the app and to tell you about it. PrepMyMeals administrators can see the list. To be taken off it, email us at the address below and we'll remove you.

If you send us feedback

"Send feedback" in the app and on the website opens your own email app with a message to info@prepmymeals.app. We get what you write, your email address and anything you attach, and we use it only to reply and to make PrepMyMeals better. Ask us to delete it any time.

What we don't do

• No advertising, and no analytics or tracking tools.
• We don't sell or share your information with anyone for marketing.
• The app doesn't access your location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone.

Who helps us run it

Your data is stored and processed by these providers, only to run the service:

• Supabase: database and sign-in.
• Railway: hosts our server.
• Vercel: hosts this website.

Like any online service, these providers keep short-lived technical logs (such as IP address and the time of a request) for security and to keep things running. Everything travels over an encrypted connection (HTTPS).

How long we keep it, and deleting your account

We keep your account information until you delete your account. You can delete it at any time, in the phone app (Settings, then Delete my account) or on the delete your account page. This permanently removes your account, your plan, ticks and grocery list, and the meals and ingredients you created, straight away. Copies may remain for a short time in our providers' routine backups before they are overwritten.

You can also change or remove any meal, note or setting yourself whenever you like. If you use the app without an account, deleting the app or clearing your browser data removes everything.

Children

PrepMyMeals is not meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If we change how we handle your information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
